Details

BLISLAND SX 07 SE 8/26 Outbuilding immediately to north 28.4.86 east of Penrose GV II

Well-house and adjoining outbuilding. Circa late C18 or early C19. Stone rubble with granite dressings. Rag slate roof, hipped at west end and gabled at south east end. Plan: small L-shaped on plan building with 2-bay open-fronted well-house in north west wing and an outbuilding in the south east wing over a basement with lower ground level at rear. Exterior: single storey well-house and 1-storey-over basement outbuilding. The well- house has open front of 2 bays on inner side with 1 roughly hewn granite post supporting the wall plate. The outbuilding has a doorway to right on inner side and steps at right end down to the lower level behind. Forms part of picturesque group to rear of Penrose Farmhouse (qv).
