Details

REDRUTH SYMONS TERRACE SE 64 SE (east side) 11/305 Nos.l to 4 (consec) GV II Terrace of 4 houses. Mid to later C19. Probably cross-wall construction with stone cross-walls and timber stud front and rear walls, the front covered with scored render and the rear slate-hung; slate roof (part slurred). Rectangular plan, divided into 2 halls-adjoining pairs. Two storeys and 4+4 bays; rusticated pilasters at the corners and the central junction, and a moulded plaster string- course; each pair is symmetrical: coupled doorways in the centre, with pilaster jambs, plain frieze and dentilled cornice, and recessed doors (up one internal step) with overlights (altered, except No.3, which has margin panes); each house has one window at ground floor and 2 above, that over the door narrower, all with shouldered architraves and raised moulded sills, and mostly 4-pane sashes (except No.1, which has 12- and 16-paned windows at 1st floor). Hipped roof with projecting eaves, a ridge chimney at the junction and another chimney at the right-hand end wall. The rear has sashed windows mostly of 12 or 16 panes, and small single-storey extensions to No.2, and Nos.3 and 4. Interiors not inspected.
