ILLOGAN COT ROAD SW 64 SE (east side, off) 5/197 1.12.51 Trengove Farmhouse
GV II Farmhouse. C18, enlarged and altered. Coursed granite rubble with quoins, the front rendered and painted white, composition tile roof (replacing thatch). L-shaped plan formed by long single-depth range on east-west axis, facing south, with service wing at east end of north side. Two storeys and approx. 4 bays; the front has various altered openings including a gabled single-storey porch-cum- consevatory in the 2nd bay, shallow canted bays in the 1st and 3rd, and 3 windows at 1st floor breaking the eaves, the roof swept over them (presumably eye-browed when thatched), that in the centre (which is a tall stairlight) and that to the right with segmental-headed glazing and coloured margin panes. Full- height lean-to addition covering right-hand end. Ridge chimney in centre, and gable chimneys, that at the east end extruded. Rear: remains of vertical joint in centre of 1st floor, with quoins to the eastern half of the range; 2 windows on each floor to the east of this, including a 12-pane sash at ground floor, a low 6-pane sash above and a tripartite sash to the left; west of the joint, 2 similar 6-pane sashes at 1st floor, and below the further of these a sashed window with intersecting round-headed tracery and diamond-pattern margin panes. Two large rectangular stone troughs lie against this wall. Service wing of one and 2 storeys has various altered openings. Interior altered.
