Details

ILLOGAN PAYNTERS LANE SW 64 SE (east side) 5/202 Glasgow House and Woodhouse

II House, now 2 dwellings. Probably mid to later C19, slightly altered. Uncoursed killas rubble with granite quoins and dressings, composition tile roof. L-shaped plan, with receding wing to rear of right-hand end (now a separate dwelling). Two storeys and 3 bays, symmetrical; central doorway with 6-panel door and 3- pane overlight, two 12-pane unhorned sashes at ground floor and 3 above, all these openings with quoined jambs and rectangular lintels; hipped roof with projecting eaves, small modern chimney behind right-hand end of ridge. The right-hand return wall has one similar window on each floor of the 1st bay, and its continuation (Woodhouse) has a narrow doorway at the right-hand end (now with glazed door), a 16-pane sashed window above, and a 20-pane sash on each floor to the left. Rear and interior not inspected.
