Details

ILLOGAN TEHIDY PARK SW 64 SW 4/206 26.1.86 White Cottage GV II House. Probably c.1780, when the walled garden to which it is attached was built; altered. Limewashed rubble with some render, all painted white, scantle slate roof, brick chimneys. L-plan formed by 2 short wings, that on the right with its rear wall integrated in to the south side of the walled garden. Two storeys, with an added (or altered) flat-roofed 2-storey porch in the angle; 16- pane sashed windows on both floors, those at ground floor with segmental heads; hipped roof with projecting eaves, square chimney stack on ridge of left wing, large L-shaped chimney stack at north-east corner of right wing. Small single- storey extension to right-hand end of this wing, and attached to this a stout yard wall with a pair of gate piers; returned side of this wall ramped to the corner of a small outbuilding with pyramidal roof (probably formerly the privy). Rear and interior not inspected. Included for group value with walled garden.
