Details

WERRINGTON SX 38 NW 9/261 Daisyland - II

House. Circa early C18 extended in mid C19. Rendered and painted stone rubble and cob. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Rendered brick shaft to end stack on left, brick axial stack to left of centre and rendered projecting stone rubble end stack on right. Plan: Two room and through passage plan heated by end stacks with probably hall- kitchen on right and parlour on left. One-room plan kitchen of circa mid C19. Small lean-to outshut, probably early C19, on right hand end. Exterior: Two storeys. Regular 4-window front with entrance to right of centre. The house was probably originally symmetrical with a 3-window front and central entrance; C20 door with slate hood flanked by two C20 replacement 2-light casements with three 2-light casements on first floor (the left hand casement a C20 replacement and the other two Cl9). In C19 extension to left a C20 2-light casement and one-light casement on ground floor with single light casement above. C19 porch on rear elevation which faces the road. Interior: Roughly cut fairly slight floor joists. Lintel to hall-kitchen fireplace replaced but fireplace retains brick lined bread oven.
