Farmhouse, now private house. Circa mid C17. Rendered cob on stone rubble footings.
Corrugated asbestos roof with gable ends replacing thatch. Projecting stone rubble
and cob end stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: 2 room and through passage plan with entrance to right of centre. Probably
larger hall kitchen to left and smaller parlour to right, both heated by end stacks
and both with cloam ovens. Extended to rear in circa mid C20, probably on site of
earlier service rooms, probably added in C18 and C19.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Regular 3-window front with entrance to right of centre. C19
plank door with C19 open-fronted porch, enclosed in C20. C20 3-light casements to
right and left and two 2-light casements and one 3-light casement on first floor.
Interior: Right hand room has complete closely set waney unchamfered floor joists
and a chamfered C17 timber lintel to fireplace with tongue stops. Left hand room has
floor joists replaced but the fireplace has well constructed ashlar jambs and an
unmoulded timber lintel. Roof timbers appear complete although not fully inspected;
several principals with slightly curved feet. "
