5/118 Wheelhead Cross at Longstone

GV II


Cross. Probably pre-Conquest cross head restored and probably resited on possibly
later C19 shaft. Granite wheelhead cross carved with Maltese cross with raised rim
and central ball on one side and with irregular Maltese cross on the other.
The shaft is of granite, is fairly roughly cut and is of rectangular section. Later
socket stone.
