ST BREWARD LOWER PENQUITE SX 07 NE 5/210 Little Beside -

GV II

Small house. Circa late C18 to early C19. Granite rubble with large granite quoins. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble end stack with slate and granite strings to left. Plan: 1 room plan with entrance into small lobby on right, the stair directly to the rear of the lobby and the single room to left heated by an end stack. Small lean-to extension added on left hand gable end in mid C20. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 1 window front. 2 light casement to left and plank door with slate hood to right. 1-light casement on first floor. C20 lean-to outshot on left hand gable end. Unaltered single window rear elevation. Interior: C20 brick grate. Mid to late C19 ceiling beams and early to mid C19 stair with C19 partitioning. In right hand gable end small opening to exterior with 1- light casement on interior; possibly an earlier form of cold store. Circa early C19 A-frame roof structure with renewed collars. A complete and unaltered 1 room plan house with unspoilt front and rear elevations and interior. In close proximity to house of similar plan qv Riverside.
