Hillsborough Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Circa early C18. Slate stone rubble, front elevation painted on ground
floor and slate hung above. Cement washed slate roof with gable ends, brick end
stacks and brick stack to rear right.
Retains early C18 plan with central through passage and two reception rooms on front
heated by end stacks. Service rooms to rear in integral outshot with dairy on left,
kitchen on right and stair adjoining right hand side of passage rising in a tower
above the rear catslide roof.
2 storeys. Symmetrical three window front. Ground floor with two C19 4-pane sashes in
segmental arched openings flanking central C19 stone-rubble. Porch with rag slate
gabled roof. Part glazed late C19/C20 door. First floor with 3 C20 casements in
original openings.
Interior appears largely unaltered although not fully inspected.
