SENNEN SENNEN COVE SW 32 NE 4/355 Capstan Cottage - GV II House and adjoining cottage (possibly a former fisherman's store. C18 mostly painted granite rubble walls with granite dressings. Wheat reed thatched roof over house, grouted scantle slate roof over front of cottage, asbestos slate at rear. Brick chimneys over left-hand gable end of cottage and left-hand gable end of house, granite chimney heightened with brick,over right-hand end of house. Plan: 2 room plan house on the right; 2 room plan cottage over probably former fish cellar on the left. House possibly originally had shallow service rooms partitioned off at the rear. Exterior: Single-storey-over-basement cottage on the left; 2-storey house on the right, all under the same eaves level. Overall irregular 4 window south front. Cottage has doorway towards the left, a small window left of the doorway and another small window towards the right. House has asymmetrical ground floor with central doorway and window at either side. First floor has window over doorway and another window on the right above the ground floor window. C20 ledged doors. C20 2-light casement windows with glazing bars. Rear is taller (ie over lower ground). House has some C20 openings. Cottage is 2 storeys at rear, unpainted rubble. Original basement doorway and ground and first floor window openings. Interior not inspected.
