SANCREED TREGONEBRIS SW 42 NW 5/308 Tregonebris Old Manor House, - including front garden walls, gate- piers and gate GV II Farmhouse including front garden gate-piers and gate. C17, remodelled in the C18, extended slightly in the C19. Granite rubble walls with granite moorstone dressings except for granite ashlar added in the C18 to part of the front. Scantle slate roofs with gable ends. Original or C18 dressed granite chimneys over the gable ends at either side of the front. C19 3 stage external granite chimney over the rear gable end of the rear wing. Granite kneeler stone (reused C17 sill or head of window at rear of left-hand gable. Plan: 3 room L-shaped plan extended in the C19 with an outshut in the angle behind the left-hand side of the house and by a single-storey fuel store behind the original wing which is behind the right-hand room (original hall/kitchen). Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window south front with C18 openings, C19 4-panel door with top panels later glazed and C20 6-pane horned sashes. Four C17 chamfered granite window opening survive in situ: in left-hand gable end first floor (blocked); first floor opening at either side of rear wing and a complete window, with central mullion, behind the present stair in the original back wall (now partition wall). Interior: Large granite fireplace in right-hand room probably remodelled in the C18 to provide a bread oven behind each jamb and retaining the original hollow-chamfered and stopped lintel. Floors and joinery are C19 or C20. Rubble garden wall adjoins left-hand side of front and return following the line of the road to farm buildings at the left of the front garden. C19 pyramidally-headed granite monolithic gate-piers, simple C19 wrought-iron gate with ogee-arched and scroll-headed top rail.
