GRAMPOUND FORE STREET (south side), Grampound SW 9248-9348 WITH CREED 7/53 Brouard Cottage - GV II

House. Probably mid C18, with alterations and additions of C19 and C20. Stone rubble, roughcast. Asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stack to left with C20 brick shaft. Plan: 2-room plan with central entrance; one room to right and left, with the room to left heated from a gable end stack. The room to right has a bay added at the front, of uncertain function. There is a wing attached to rear left, for service, probably of circa mid C19., heated from a gable end stack. Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 3-window front. Ground floor has central C19 panelled and glazed door with C19 16-pane sash to left. First floor has two C19 2- light 8-pane casements. The bay to right is 2-storey, shallow, with the pitch of the main roof extended over it; 16-pane sash at ground floor and 2-light 8-pane casement at first floor. The left end has late C19 4-pane sash at first floor to right. The rear wing is single storey with loft over, with C19 2-light 5-pane casement at first floor and single storey lean-to at the outer side. C20 porch with 2-light casement and door set in the angle to the main range. Interior: Not accessible but may retain internal features of the C18.
