Details
GRAMPOUND FORE STREET (north side), Grampound SW 9248-9348 WITH CREED 7/31 Pendene and Little Pendene 10.2.67 GV II
Pair of attached houses, originally one house. Mid-late C19 with few later alterations. Stone rubble with stucco front. Scantle slate and asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with rendered shafts with cornices. Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room of equal size to front right and left. There is a rear service wing to left of one-room plan. Little Pendene, to the left contains the room to front left and the service wing, with a porch entrance at the left end of the front. Exterior: The main house is 2-storey, a symmetrical 3-window front with rusticated quoins and band course, with deep eaves. The ground floor has central shallow portico with square plan piers and flat hood with cornice; inner C19 half-glazed door with overlight. C19 canted bay to right and left with 6-pane sashes at the front and sidelights. First floor has three C19 6-pane sashes with raised surrounds and cills on corbels. At the left side there is a C19 flat-roofed porch with C20 glazed door, the porch has similar square plan piers supporting a flat hood with cornice. The left end is blind; the rear service wing to left is 2-storey, with a gable end to front, with plate-glass sash at first floor. The right end has small 4-pane sash to attic. Interior: Not inspected.
