Details
GRAMPOUND FORE STREET (north side), Grampound SW 9248-9348 WITH CREED 7/46 Woodbine Villa - GV II
House. Probably C18, with additions of circa mid C19 and some C20 alterations. Stone rubble; rendered and lined out. Slate roof with ridge tiles; gable end to left and hipped to right. Gable end stack to left with brick shaft. Plan: 2-room plan, with a large room to left and smaller room to right, each originally heated from an end stack. Rear service wing to right of one-room plan, heated from a gable end stack, of circa mid C19, and an outshut to rear left. Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 3-window front; all windows are C19 sashes, arranged in 2 bays to left and one to end right, all 16-pane sashes in exposed boxes. Second from right a C20 glazed door. The right end has late C19 6-pane sash at first floor to right. The rear wing is 2-storey, splayed around the corner, with two 2- light 5-pane C19 casements and 4-pane window at ground floor, 2 similar 2-light casements at first floor. The inner side of the wing has a plank door and C19 4-pane sash at ground floor, with 6-pane sash at first floor. The rear of the main range has a central stair tower, with 2-light 8-pane casement. To right there is a single storey outhsut with scantle slate roof and C20 2-light casement, with a stable type plank door at the inner side; C20 corrugated asbestos porch over the door. Interior: Not accessible.
