ST SAMPSON DUCK LANE, Golant SX 15 SW 9/254 Orchard Cottage - II

House. Early C19, with later C19 addition to left and C20 addition to right, with later internal alterations. Painted slatestone rubble. Slurried slate roof with gable ends and ridge tiles, painted brick gable end stacks. The roof of the later C19 addition to left is in asbestos slate. Plan: 2 principal front rooms, with each room of equal size and central entrance to stair hall; integral outshut to the rear of the whole house, for a kitchen, heated by a stack to the rear, now removed. The stair has been removed from the stair hall and a C20 stair inserted in the outshut. Attached to left, an addition of one-room plan of later C19, of 2 storeys; small single storey C20 addition to right side. 2 storeys and symmetrical 3-window front, all windows of C19, 4-pane sashes with horns; central 6-panelled door with pitched asbestos slate hood. To left, the 2- storey addition is at a lower roof level, ground floor C20 window and door, first floor C20 window. Attached to right, single storey C20 addition with window and garage entrance. The rear outshut has a 2-light casement at the right side at first floor and a 2-light casement to the rear at ground floor. Interior Much altered in C20.
