Farmhouse. Probably late C17 with additions of C18 and C19 and later alterations.
Slatestone rubble. Slate roof with ridge tiles. Gable end to left with gable end
stack with brick shaft. Hipped to right with stack at the right side.
Plan: The original house is of 2-room plan, with central entrance and room to right
and left, each heated from an end stack. Probably in the C18 a kitchen was added
behind the room to right, and a dairy at the right end, extending to form an outer
parallel rear wing.
Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 4-window front. Four 16-pane sashes of C19 at
first floor. Ground floor has C19 16-pane sash to right and left and central C20
half-glazed door. The C18 dairy is to right with a dairy ventilator window at ground
floor and C19 16-pane sash at first floor. The left gable end is blind. At the
right side there is a 2-light casement to left to the dairy; to right a 4-pane sash
at ground and first floor. The original kitchen wing has a rear gable end external
stack with curved oven at the base. The inner side of the wing has 16-pane sash at
ground floor and 6-pane sash at first floor; C20 porch set in the angle to the main
range. The rear of the main range has round-arched 28-pane stair light with splayed
glazing bars. There is a blind arch at cellar level to right.
