Details
LOSTWITHIEL FORE STREET (north side), SX 15 NW Lostwithiel 10/90 John Bragg Antiques - GV II
House, now with shop at ground floor and in multiple occupation in the upper floors. Circa 1780, with alterations of C19 and C20. Rendered stone rubble. 2-span slate roof with gable ends and gable end brick stack to front and rear right. Double depth plan, originally central entrance to passage with principal room to front right and left; doorway to right leads to passage giving access to upper storeys, with principal rooms at ground floor converted for shop in circa mid C19; stair well to rear centre. 3 storeys, ground floor has continuous fascia over C20 door with overlight to right and shop front to left; this has plate-glass front, with recessed doorway with glazed door off centre to left. First floor has 12-pane sash to right and left, blocked central window, second floor has three 12-pane sashes; moulded eaves cornice on brackets. Right side has chamfered wall, brick stack to front and rear gable end. Interior At first floor, 2 principal front rooms, with panelled double doors between; slate chimneypieces. Rear stair well has open well stair with stick balusters and. columnar newels. At second floor the chimneypiece are in wood.
