TOWEDNACK CRIPPLESEASE SW 53 NW 5/351 Barn and stables at from 10 metres - north east of The Engine Public House GV II Barn, probably granary over shippon or stables and probably stables almost adjoining in front. Circa mid C19 barn, later C19 stables. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roof : half-hipped roof over barn ; gable-ended roof to stables. Plan: Rectangular plan barn with opposing loading/winnowing doorways towards right of loft approached by flight of granite steps at rear. Later C19 rectangular stables (or possibly shippon) built almost adjoining in the front of the right-hand side at an obtuse angle. Exterior: 2 storey barn single storey stables. Barn has slightly irregular 1 window front with central doorway to the ground floor with window on either side ; loading doorway to first floor towards right and window towards left. Stables has symmetrical 2 window front with central doorway. Ledged doors. Hopper windows.
