Details
MADRON MADRON SW 43 SE 7/169 Tregoddick House front garden walls - and gate GV II House, front garden walls and gate. C18. Granite ashlar front, otherwise rubble with granite dressings. Half-hipped scantle slate roof with tall brick stacks over the side walls. 3 hipped roof dormers. Cast-iron ogee gutters. Plan: original plan survives: double-depth plan with wider kitchen, left, with back kitchen behind and parlour, right with dairy/smoke room behind and entrance hall between leading to stair hall. Adjoining at the left is a C19 lean-to stable and coach house. An old tree grows thorugh the wall of the stable at the front. Exterior: Nearly symmetrical 3-window south west front with doorway right of middle. C19 fretted porch, old glazed door and circa late C19 4-pane sashes. Interior: many original doors with fielded and beaded panels and original partitions, floors and probably roof structure. In the kitchen is a reused C17 chamfered granite lintel. Low granite coped wall parallel to the front of the house. Circa early C19 scrolled and latticed iron gate and C20 replacement iron railings.
