Farmhouse and adjoining barns and stables. Dated on sculptured stone over stable door JUNE 2 1819, incorporating earlier building dated and inscribed on lintel W.B. A.B. 1707 (Barwis). Facade of red sandstone ashlar with eaves modillions and angle pilasters; other walls of coursed sandstone rubble. Graduated hipped greenslate roof with brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays with extension to rear under common roof and adjoining T-shaped stables and barns. 6-panel door under radial fanlight in Tuscan pedimented doorcase. Sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. Extension has 4-panel door under fanlight in painted stone surround with cornice. Upper floor sash window under console-bracketed cornice. Rear wall has built-in reused dated lintel. Stable has plank doors and loft doors and casement windows with glazing bars, all in painted stone surrounds. Over one doorway is a sculptured galloping horse and date under a Sun Fire Insurance mark. Barns have through segmental cart archways, plank doors under shaped lintels and louvred vents in stone surrounds. Heart-shaped and round vents in end wall facing road. Single-storey dairy to left of house is not of interest.
