14/91 Market Lamp Post
G.V. II
Gas lamp-post formerly in the market place. Victorian. Cast-iron. Fluted and
decorated circular column on octagonal plinth surmounted by ladder brackets and
octagonal lantern (without glazing or fitments). Has raised inscription around
the column base EX FUMO DARE LUCEM (rest of inscription illegible including the
name of the iron-works and date to rear). Moved from its original location in
1872 and re-erected 1924. Has G.V. with the nearby village pump from the same
location.
