Byres with storehouse above, formerly house. Probably mid C17. Red sandstone
rubble walls, with large flush quoins; Welsh slate roof with bottom course of
stone slates. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Front has plank door with original wooden
lintel above. 3-light wooden diamond mullioned windows to both floors, have
partly lost their glazing bars and are now unglazed; similar wooden lintels as
entrance. Rear wall, facing farmyard has windows of 2 periods; similar 3-light
mullioned window and smaller 2-light window top right; extreme right ground
floor window with chamfered stone surround now partly covered by external stone
steps and smaller similar window above. Ground floor plank door has wooden
lintel. Loft entrance has been enlarged and then partly filled; infilling
includes a reused corbel stone. Ground floor inner doorway has chamfered stone
surround. This was the original farmhouse, replaced by the present farmhouse in
the late C18.
