Details
LORTON HIGH LORTON NY 12 NE 10/151 Lorton Park G.V. II House. Early C19. Painted incised stucco with eaves cornice, parapet and angle pilasters. Graduated greenslate roof with ashlar chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays with road facade of 5 bays and left square tower wing. Round-headed C19 glazed door in stucco surround; flanking canted bay windows. Upper-floor sash windows with glazing bars in painted architraves under projecting cornices. Road facade has sash windows with glazing bars in painted architraves, 2 with round arches, one blind window and segmental carriage arch in quoined surround. Left return wall has segmental-headed ground-floor windows with margin glazing bars. Tower wing has hipped roof. Richard Harbard 1803-1878 of Lorton Park is recorded on a memorial in Lorton Church.
