27/153 Plane Trees & houses adjoining east end

GV II

House now subdivided and in part used for storage; Plane Trees (on right) may be a converted outbuilding. Dated 1691, with initials R. & E.I., on original door lintel; later additions and alterations. Wet-dashed rubble. Graduated slate roof with stone coping to east end, stone and rendered chimneys and stone ridges. 2 storeys, 8 bays overall. East end of original house 4 bays: Plank door in original architrave with window to left and inserted garage door to right. West end of original house 2 bays: Plank door inserted under original 2-light window head; fixed window in chamfered surround to right. Plane Trees, 2 bays: C19 plank door; small C20 casement to left and C19 sash to right. Original house has 6 Yorkshire sashes, in original 2-light chamfered surrounds (with mullions removed), on 1st floor. Plane Trees 1st floor has C19 Yorkshire sash. Eaves cornice runs full length of building. Stepped mid and end chimneys to original house (mid and east end corniced stone); rendered end chimney to Plane Trees. Blocked original windows to rear.
