1/180 Old Mill Flatt, farmhouse 6.2.68 II
Farmhouse. 1666 date, with initials T.E. & M.E., on door lintel to southern extension. Original building probably late C16/early C17. House extended to north (1st floor added) and south later in C17; later additions and alterations. Original building coursed squared rubble, northern extension stone blocks, southern extension snecked rubble, all with quoins; roadside elevation wet-dashed. Roof: Welsh slate with stone-flagged eaves to farmyard elevation, graduated slate to roadside elevation. 2 storeys. Farmyard elevation 8 bays overall. Southern extension has studded plank door, in chamfered surround with false 4-centred head to dated lintel. 2 windows to ground floor, with 2 windows and fire window above and to each floor of central block. 2 windows, under continuous hoodmould, to northern extension. Most windows casements in chamfered surrounds; originally multi-light, all mullions have been removed. 1st floor fire windows blocked. Stone coping to south end; corniced stone mid and end chimneys. Interior: Stone spiral stair in canted outshut to rear of southern extension. Chamfered C17 wood door surround,with shaped head,to each floor through original north gable wall.
