1. 5272 LITTLE CHART THE STREET The Cottage TQ 9446 27/80 14.2.67. II 2. C17. Two storeys and attic in gable end. Red brick. Tiled roof with shaped Dutch gable end to the south. Three casement windows with round-headed lights known locally as Dering windows, because they were inserted in all the cottages and farms belonging to the estate of Surrenden Dering in the adjoining Parish of Pluckley, probably by Sir Edward Cholmeley Dering (1807-1896),8th Baronet, who owned the estate from 1811-96. The ground floor windows have brick architraves and keystones over. Doorcase with flat hood over on scroll brackets.
