4/49 The Bells of Peover public house. -
GV II
Public house. Early C18 with extensive C19 additions and alterations. Whitewashed English garden wall bond brick with slate roof. Two storeys. Entrance front: C19 porch to right of centre. Three-light C19 casements to right and left of porch. Mezzanine window to left of porch. Two C19 3-light first floor windows with heart and diamond patterns in projecting headers between. To left is a late C19 addition with canted wooden bay to ground floor and 3-light casement above. To right is a C19 addition with semi-octagonal bay with 4-light windows to right and left of it. Two 4-light gabled half-dormers to first floor. Listed for group value with Church of St Oswald, Nether Peover C.P., Vale Royal District (q.v.)
