328-0/14/10005 Multi-Functional building at south-east corner of farmyard at Long Rigg Farm
G.V. II
Multi functional farm building incorporating cool store, wash house, loose boxes and kennel. 1903, for Lord Ree of Gatehouse. Random granite rubble with quoins, some red sandstone dressings, graduated slate roof. Long rectangular plan of 5½ bays. Single storey; 5 square headed doorways with sandstone lintels, the 1st with flush board door, the 2nd with a recessed board door and the others with stable doors. Corniced single flue chimney on ridge at junction of cool store and wash house. Lean-to kennel at right hand gable. Rear wall has 5 segmental headed windows with 3 pane glazing over wooden ventilators. Interior: stone slab shelving in cool store; washing boiler in wash house; feeding troughs and racks in the loose boxes. Together with the barn and shippon (q.v.), the stable block (q.v.), the pigsties (q.v.), manure shed (q.v.) and boundary wall (q.v.), forms part of complete model farm.
