GV II
Detached house. Mid C17. Dressed limestone, tiled roof, gable end stone stacks with moulded cappings, pitched coped verges. Two-storey and attic, 3-window front. Central round-arched doorway with sidelights and 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement either side. Moulded string course to first floor; 3- light mullioned casement either side of 4-light mullioned casement. Three hipped C20 dormers with steel casements. Left return has C20 round arched doorway to basement, 2-light mullioned casement with hoodmould to ground and first floor, blocked single light to attic. Right return has single-storey 1970s extension in dressed limestone and similar style. Rear has basement with round-arched doorway and 3-light mullioned casement with hoodmould to left, central 3-storey gabled stair turret has 3-light and 2-light mullioned casements with hoodmoulds, ground and first floor either side have 3-light mullioned casements, the ground floor with hoodmoulds. Interior has chamfered beams with stepped stops, room to right of entrance has full wainscot panelling, ovolo-moulded stone fireplace surround, room to left has Tudor-arched stone fireplace surround. Winding stairs in stair turret renewed 1970s, first floor has chamfered stone fireplace surrounds.
