WYLYE FORE STREET SU 03 NW (north side) 2/132 Walnut Cottage 23.3.60 Formely listed as small house opposite Vine Cottage with Granary and Barn) GV II Detached cottage. Late C17. Chequered flint and limestone, thatched roof with gable end brick stacks. Two-storey and attic, 2-windowed; casements. Central planked door with strap hinges in chamfered stone case, 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to left and 3-light to right. First floor has 2-light and 3-light mullioned casements. C20 four-light casement to attic dormer, coped verges. Left return has 2-light mullioned casement to first floor and to attic. Right return has single casement to ground and first floor, single chamfered light to attic. Rear has C19 single- storey extension with slate roof, one 2-light mullioned casement to ground and first floor of main range. Interior not accessible at time of survey (September 1985).
