Details

CALSTOCK CHURCH STREET (east side), SX 4268-4368 Calstock 9/75 No 9 (formerly listed as nos 8 3.1.68 and 9) GV II Pair of attached houses, originally Nos. 8 and 9, now one house. C18, with C19 and later alterations. Painted stone rubble with brick dressings. Asbestos slate roof with gable ends, gable end stack to right with brick shaft ; No. 9 shares the gable end stack to left with No. 10 Church Street (q.v.). Plan: Originally a pair of one-room plan houses, each room heated from a gable end stack, and with paired central entrances. The door to the original No. 9, to left, has been blocked, probably in mid C19, and a window inserted. Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 4-window front ; all 4-pane sashes of C19 with cambered brick heads. Ground floor second from right a C20 half-glazed door.
