6/145 St Winnow Mill

Millhouse, now private dwelling, circa early C19. Rubblestone with slate roof with
gable ends. Large projecting stone chimneys with brick stacks at gable ends.
Double depth plan originally 2 rooms wide with through passage. 2 storeys,
symmetrical 3 window east front. Ground floor with C19 central panelled door in
gabled stone rubble porch with round brick arch in gable end. Flanked by 2-light
centre hung wood casements with contemporary decorative glazing bars banded with 2
panes. 3 slightly smaller wood casements of same pattern above ground floor openings.
Cloam oven projection on right-hand gable end. Interior not inspected.
Millhouse for St Winnow Mill, situated 50 metres to south-east. Site dates from
1331 and present mill was working until 1940. Now in derelict condition although
still possessing mill stones and some machinery. Not included in listing.
