6/145 St Winnow Mill -

- II

Millhouse, now private dwelling, circa early C19. Rubblestone with slate roof with gable ends. Large projecting stone chimneys with brick stacks at gable ends. Double depth plan originally 2 rooms wide with through passage. 2 storeys, symmetrical 3 window east front. Ground floor with C19 central panelled door in gabled stone rubble porch with round brick arch in gable end. Flanked by 2-light centre hung wood casements with contemporary decorative glazing bars banded with 2 panes. 3 slightly smaller wood casements of same pattern above ground floor openings. Cloam oven projection on right-hand gable end. Interior not inspected. Millhouse for St Winnow Mill, situated 50 metres to south-east. Site dates from 1331 and present mill was working until 1940. Now in derelict condition although still possessing mill stones and some machinery. Not included in listing.
