BEAFORD SAINT GEORGE'S STREET, Beaford SS 5515 20/59 The Post House (SS 55285 15065), - approximately 2 metres to south- east of Bellvue
GV II
Cottage, now disused. Probably mid to late C18. Painted stone rubble ground floor and rendered cob first floor. Gable-ended asbestos-slate roof. Adjoining outbuilding of painted stone rubble with hipped corrugated iron roof. Plan: One-room plan with integral end stack to right (now truncated) and stair in left-hand rear corner. Possibly formerly 2-room plan, with smaller unheated room to left but partition wall since removed. Outbuilding adjoining to left. Two storeys with one-storey outbuilding. Exterior: Symmetrically-fenestrated front; two first-floor small C19 two-light wooden casement and ground floor small C19 two-light wooden casement to right. C19 boarded door to left with beaded wooden frame. Wide battered buttress to ground floor to left of door. Outbuilding adjoining to left has C19 four-pane window to left and pair of large boarded double doors to right. Interior: not inspected, but ground-floor room noted as having open fireplace to right, stair in left-hand rear corner and joists spanning front to back. Bellvue is not included on this list.
