TL 84 SW FOXEARTH 4/120 Cardinal's Farmhouse

GV II

House. Possibly C16 origin with C17 and later alterations and C19 red brick facing. Timber framed. Red plain tiled roofs. Main 2 storey range to left, 1 storey and attic range with a gabled dormer to right. Rear wing. First floor 3:1 window range, ground floor 3:1 window range, mainly of C19 3 light vertical sliding sashes. Red tiled bay to ground floor left. Red tiled gabled porch approached by 4 steps. Door, of 2 panels and 2 lights with light over. Red brick chimney stack to centre of main range and right of right range. Internally, re-used in rear wall are 3 crenellated and heavily carved beams with grape and foliar motifs. Stop chamfered beams. Jowled storey posts. C16/17 floorboards. C18 doors with hinges and brass locks. Many good C19 features. Attached to right wing at rear is a C19 dairy with original shelves, floor and drain, hamhooks, oak slab cream pan shelf. 3 original louvres with shutters. House at one time known at Carbonel's, one of the 3 manors of Foxearth.
