Shown on 0.S. map as West Rapson. Farmhouse, now house, with adjoining barns and outbuildings. Probably late C17 or early C18 house with probably later C18 or early C19 alterations and additions (including barn) and probably late C19 or early C20 minor addition. Minor late C20 alterations. House rendered to front (probably over cob) and painted stone rubble to rear, and gable-ended thatched roof with brick end stacks. C20 clay tiles to rear wing. Barn of uncoursed stone rubble, with some cob (above entrance), and gabled- ended C20 clay tile roof. Stone and cob outbuilding with half-hipped corrugated-iron roof. Plan and development: Two-room central-entrance plan, sited at right angles to the road (facing south). Integral brick end stacks. Probably later wing projecting at right angles to rear, possibly late C18 or early C19, with late C19 (or later) lean- to outshut in angle. Barn adjoining at right-hand end, probably a late C18 or later addition (possibly an alteration of an earlier barn - see small section of cob). Low range of probably late C18 or early C19 outbuildings projecting at right angles to front of the left-hand end. Two-storey house with one-storey outshut and outbuildings. Exterior: Symmetrical 2-window front; 2-light small-paned wooden casements. Central late C20 lean-to stone porch with late C20 panelled door. Range of outbuildings adjoining at right angles to left has 2 plank doors with wooden lintels. Barn adjoining the right-hand end of the house has a central pair of large plank doors with flanking buttresses (remains of shallow porch) and a wooden lintel (with cob above). Left-hand gable end of the house has a 2-light wooden casement to each floor and a projecting lean-to bread oven. Interior not inspected.
