8/48 Hornbeck House and adjacent wall and railings
G.V. II
House. Late C18, raised early C19, some later C19 alterations. Red brick, some yellow brick. Slate roof. 2 red and yellow brick gable stacks. Deep plinth. First floor band. 2 storeys, 5 bays. The central bay is gabled. Central doorway with 6 fielded panel door, traceried overlight and decorative architrave. To the right and occupying 2 bays is a single C19 projecting bay window with 4 lights to the front and single similar lights to each side, each light with single transom with glazing bars over. Panelled frieze, dentil cornice and entablature. To the left of the doorway are 2 segmental arched glazing bar sashes. Above are 2 similar sashes with single central small segmental arched sash. Extending in front of the house for about 16 metres is a low brick wall surmounted by C19 decorative cast iron railings. Interior has box shutters.
