1. 1811 BAGDALE (South Side) No 1 (Bagdale Old Hall) NZ 8910 3/23 23.2.54.

2. Early C16. Restored 1883 and subsequently. Principal part L-shaped; 2 storeys and gabled attics. Ashlar; 3 and 4-light stone mullioned windows with cornice above first floor, 3-light mullioned windows to capped gables with kneelers. 2-light mullioned windows in capped and kneelered gabled dormers. Bagdale Old Hall was the seat of several noted local families and the home of Browne Bushell, son-in-law of Sir Thomas Fairfax. He was hanged as a traitor in 1651. Panel brought from the Merceria in Venice, and mentioned by Ruskin, built into 1 of walls. (See P Shaw Jeffrey "A Short History and description of Bagdale Old Hall" 1945).
