8/114 Stepping Stones Antique Shop, cottage attached to right and outbuilding to left GV II
Two houses,one with shop; and outbuilding; probably late C18. Coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone; roof plain clay tiles with stone ridge, copings, kneelers and stacks. 2 storeys, 3 wide bays in all. 2 boarded doors alternate with 3 sash windows; similar windows above; all have vertical bars except for a 16-pane sash at ground floor right. Stepped eaves, slightly pointed kneelers and banded chimneys. At left a range of 1-storey outbuildings of different builds with boarded single and double doors and one small window. On left return, above shouldered-arched cart entrance, a datestone of 1856. Mounting block attached to wall.
Included for group value with Lealholm Bridge.
