Details
FYLINGDALES HIGH LANE NZ 90 NW (east end , off) 9/97 Stable/byre to north of Bay Ness Old Farmhouse GV II Farm building, late C17 or early C18. Coursed squared sandstone; pantiled roof with stone copings. 1 storey, 5 bays, the left bay under a returned gable. 2 stable-type doors under heavy stone lintels. Loading door in returned gable end. Rear shows 2 raked loading dormers. Very high pitched roof. Interior shows an upper cruck truss at north end, halved at top and with a collar. Tie beams now at eaves level, but sockets for earlier ties visible about 2 feet lower. Five levels of stout purlins. Wing projecting from lover part of returned gable has been unroofed and is not of special interest.
