Details

EGTON KEY GREEN NZ 80 SW 8/33 Low Key Green Cottage - II House and attached outbuilding. Early C18: outbuilding re-built in C19: some C20 alteration. Originally cruck-framed, encased in rubble sand- stone; rebuilt part in hammered sandstone; pantile roofs. 1½-storey, 2-bay house front to left of 1-storey, 2½-bay rebuilt range of out- buildings. C20 cross-passage door at left end of outbuilding range. Two windows to right, one pivoting, one partly blocked. Hammered lintels to all these openings. Corbelled eaves and coped right end gable. House front: fixed-light firewindow beneath rough timber lintel to left of door. C20 3-light casement further left and enlarged C20 window at left end. Small light inserted in first floor over ground floor casement. Coped gables and end stacks. Interior. Chamfer-stopped beams and chamfered square-section joists in ground floor rooms left of cross passage. One pair of crossed-apex upper crucks, raised on fireplace bressummer survive in attic room left of cross passage.
