NZ 8512 LYTHE VALLEY ROAD (south side) 14/226 - Lumley Cottage
GV II
House. Probably C18 early. Coursed squared stone. Fairly high-pitched pantiled roof. Stone copings, shaped kneelers, brick end chimneys. 2 storeys, 2 bays, wide proportions. Formerly had stone-mullioned windows on ground floor. 3- light C20 small-paned casements now inserted. 1 fixed light in original opening at left. First floor windows have been heightened and now break eaves, with dormers. Roll moulded door head. Boarded door in wood architrave. Interior: Remains of large fireplace; beam and small cupboards in position. Wood par- tition, possibly C18, with stairs behind.
