HOVINGHAM BROOKSIDE SE 6675 (north side) 8/93 Pelican Cottage GV II House. Mid C18 with earlier origins. Limestone rubble brought to course and pantile roof. Direct entry to left return. Outshut to rear continuous with Oldfields (qv). Return elevation: 2 storeys, 2 first-floor windows. Board door. Replacement 2-light Yorkshire sashes throughout. Skylight. Right end stack. This house formerly formed the cross wing of a hall and cross wing house, of which part of Oldfields formed the hall. North Yorkshire and Cleveland Vernacular Buildings Study Group Report Number 122.
