HENDERSKELFE PRETTY WOOD SE 76 NW Castle Howard 7/50 Pyramid in Pretty Wood 25.1.54 GV I Pyramid. Before 1727. By Nicholas Hawksmoor for Charles Howard, 3rd Earl of Carlisle. Limestone. Approximately 8 metres in height. Square plinth carries rusticated base with cyma reversa frieze. Rusticated pyramid. Appears on estate map of 1727. In a derelict condition at time of resurvey. HBMC, Register of Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England, Part 32, North Yorkshire: Castle Howard, Grade I.
