Circa 1894-7 by Baggerley Bristow. Mostly two storeys with semi-basements. Symmetrical facade with three bay centre linked by three bay extensions to three bay wings with centre bay set back at first floor level. Slated hipped roofs with central leaded dome with balustraded parapet and surmounted by Doric, octagonal cupola; wing roofs with wooden cupolas; two bell towers with corner pinnacles flank dome. Rusticated limestone ashlar podium, with tooled ashlar dressings to coursed squared rubble facing of ground and first floors. Console bracketed cornices with blocking course; centre block with carved parapet terminated by obelisk and with enriched centrpiece bearing the Harrogate Coat of Arms. Segmental arched podium windows; principal three-light windows of modified Venetian type with pilasters carrying entablature and segmental pediments; wings and centre entrance bay with lunettes. Prostyle Doric portico in antis. Assembly Room with quadrapartite plan with coffered dome; modified Corinthian Order with paired columns carrying entablature ; arched windows with stained glass. Balustraded parapet to forecourt wings.
Nos 2 to 24 (even) and the Royal Baths form a group with the return of No 3 Crown Place.
