Details

LOCKTON HOSTESS LANE SE 88 NW (south-east side) 6/59 Mount Cottage, attached steps and ramped up wall to front; attached workshop GV II House and attached workshop. Late C18 with later alteration. Coursed limestone, rendered on left gable wall; pantile roof to house, corrugated to workshop; brick stacks to house, one rebuilt; rendered to workshop. Coursed roughly squared limestone to wall, with milled coping. House: central staircase plan, one room deep with continuous outshut. 2-storey, 2- window front to house, with 2-storey workshop at lower level to left. Central 6-panel door with overlight approached by flight of stone steps and 4-pane sashes with stone sills to house. 6-panel door beneath divided overlight to workshop, with fixed light window with glazing bars to left and small fixed-light window above. Painted timber lintels throughout. Coped gables, plain kneelers and end stacks to house; single end stack to workshop. Flight of steps to front behind ramped up retaining wall. Unoccupied at time of resurvey.
