SE 24 NW FARNLEY OTLEY TO FARNLEY ROAD (south side, off) 4/17 Outbuilding approximately 30 metres north of Farnley Hall (formerly listed as

Dairy) 22.11.66 GV II

Outbuilding. Early C17, restored C19 and C20. Coursed gritstone rubble and ashlar, stone slate roof. Square plan, 1½ storeys, 1 bay with gables on 3 sides. Quoins. South side: C20 board door and overlight under round arch on right. 2-light double-chamfered mullion window with hood-mould in gable above, now blocked. Ashlar gable coping with bulbous finials. Left return: double-chamfered, 5-light, mullion and transom window with round-headed lights, lead cames and hoodmould above, a 2-light gable window as front. To the rear 3-light mullion and transom window to ground floor as left return, and 2-light blocked mullion window over. Copings and finials as south front. The right return has plain eaves and no early features. Interior: no flooring survives. The building is believed to have been removed from Newall Old Hall, Otley, in the later C19.
