SESSAY RACE LANE SE 47 SE (east side, off) 7/43 Barn approximately 30 metres to north of Wood End - II Combination farm building. Early C19. Orange-red brick in English garden wall bond (5:1), pantile roof. 3-bay barn on left of 3-bay cartshed; with entrance between them to stair up to granary over cartshed; pent-roofed addition on right not of special interest. Barn: central slightly-projecting bay under extended roof has double board cart doors with wood lintel below header-brick course; to each side, 3 tiers of paired vents (paired slit vents below square vents set in lozenge pattern). On right, segmental archway to internal stone stair. Cart shed: 3 segmental arches, divided by circular brick piers with stone imposts; above central arch, board granary door flanked by small 4-pane windows, all with segmental header-brick arches. Dentilled eaves. Hipped roof. Rear: barn has opposing winnowing door; windows to left. Left return: 3 tiers of paired slit vents. Interior: board door and wide floorboards to granary which has 3 collared principal rafter roof trusses. C20 shelter attached to rear, not included in item.
