12/22 The Three Horseshoes Inn

GV II

Public house. Late C17 with later alterations. Colour-washed plaster on stone, pantile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Right-hand bay has gable. Chamfered plinth, rusticated quoins, bays separated by pilasters on deep plinths. Central double 4-panel doors in surround with pilasters, frieze and cornice,to its right a 4-pane sash. To left bay a canted bay window with casements, frieze, cornice and lead hipped roof. Right-hand bay has similar window with C20 casements. First floor: three 16-pane sashes. All windows have stone sills. Above right-hand window is a moulded plaster triangle with 3 horseshoes inside. Two right-hand pilasters have moulded tops, the other 2 carrying up into the wide plain cornice to 2 left-hand bays. Right-hand bay: shaped kneeler to right, moulded stone coping. End stack to left, stack at eaves level to right.
