WORSBROUGH GENN LANE SE30SW (north side)

1/84 Section of roadside wall with steps immediately to 11.11.66 front of Ouslethwaite Hall GV II Garden retaining wall with steps to central gateway. Late C18-early C19. Coursed, dressed sandstone, ashlar pillars. Central gate piers approached by steps on two sides of stone platform; retaining walls formed by convex panels of stonework (3 on left, 5 on right) divided by ashlar pillars. Gate piers have roll-moulded edges and square section which reduces in moulding at top. Dividing pillars project above wall copings and have ogee-profile tops with socket for cresting balustrade now removed. Included for group value.
